Outline of Theory of Hypermodernity

在时代判断和分析上,除了流行的后现代性和晚期(或高级)现代性两种话语之外,还存在着一种往住被忽视的超级现代性话语。它认为,当前,现代性发展到了"超级的"、"过度的"、"极端的"状态,时空经验和人的生存都处在一种灾变的临界点上。维希留、鲍德里亚、利波维茨基、奥热以及许多新技术批判理论家都是这种话语的倡导者。在启蒙解放规划已经失败或颠倒的背景下,他们以独创性的"速度学"、"荒诞玄学"以及拓展了的人类学和技术学视角来定义新的现实,重估人类自由条件,扩大了我们时代分析的理论视野,亦为新的理论介入提供了可资借鉴的窗口。

Besides post-modernity and late(or high)-modernity,there is a special discourse on modernity which could be entitled by hyper-modernity or super-modernity.Jean Baudrillard,Paul Virilio,Gilles Lipovetsky,Marc Augéand many other critical thinkers of technology are the advocates of hypermodernity.They regard hypermodernity as a new phase or state of modernity,which is super,over and extreme,and means a critical point of human living,the experiential transformation of time and space.Under the context of failure or subversion of Enlightenment Project,these thinkers try to define the brandnew reality,to reevaluate the condition of human liberty,and to open a new horizon for reflections on our times.
