Many diverse APUD cells ( Amine Precursor Uptake and Decarboxylation Cells ) of which secretions are peptide hormones distribute the guts of avian, including S cells, G cells, D cells, PP cells, I cells, L cells, N cells, M cells, K cells whose secretion respectively is Secretin (SCT), Gastrin (GAS) and Enkephalin (ENK), Somatostatin (SS) and Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP), Avian Pancreatic Polypeptide (APP), Choleeystokinin (CCK), Enteroglucagon, Neurotensin (NT) , Motilin (MOT) , Glucose - denpendent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). They are critically vital to nutrition, digestive absorption and immunization of avian. This review summarizes the studies on categories, distribution and physiologic funtions of chief APUD Cells in the gut of avian for the further deeply researches.
