中医的证是病人的全身综合反映状态 ,是病因病理学之外的另一个临床医学范畴。状态与病因病理是人类疾病的两个不同方面。文章从单纯状态病、西医难治和不治的疾病、常见病的治疗、中医药的近期疗效和远期疗效等方面阐述了中医药的临床实践价值。

This article compares between contemporary pathogenicity and the signs and symptoms (as “Zhen” in Chinese Medicine) applied in Chinese Medicine.The author emphasizes that signs and symptoms (as “Zhen” in Chinese Medicine) are a reflection of systemic and specific reactions within one's body. It is a reflection of one's “kilter”.“Kilter” ailments and pathogenicity of diseases are two entirely different aspects. The author iterates that “kilter” ailments should be studied with a different approach. This article also elucidates four other different aspects pertaining to the clinical value of Chinese Medicine:Simple Kilter、Clinical difficulties encountered by Orthodox Medicine、Common diseases treated by Chinese Medicine and、Long and Short term treatment results of Chinese Medicine.
