A REFLECTION ON THE NARRATIVE PORTRAITS OF CARS PULLING BY FISH AND PEOPLE RIDING ON FISH ON HAN DYNASTY TOMBS FROM THE RELIGIOUS PERSPECTIVE

近些年出土的汉代墓葬叙事画像中,出现了多幅鱼拉车、人骑鱼画像,从叙事的内容看,画像借助巫术的手段,拉墓主灵魂升天;从深层的理念看,蕴含的是先民生命意识的觉醒和突破生命局限的愿望。鱼车、骑鱼画像蕴含着一定的宗教因素,虽虚妄,但能警醒世人重视生命、爱惜生命,激发生命的活力。

In recent years' unearthed narrative portraits on Han Dynasty tombs,a large number of them depict the images of cars pulling by fish and people riding on fish. From the perspective of narrative content,these portraits serve for the souls' ascending of the tomb owners through its witchcraft. From the perspective of the concept in a deeper level,these portraits convey the ancestors' awakening of life consciousness and desire for breaking through the life limits. The portraits of cars pulling by fish and people riding on fish contains particular religious element which are unfounded,but remind the living ones to cherish life and inspire their vigor of life.
