儒佛“内圣外王”思想辨析

Comparative Study of the Thought of “Internal Saints and External Kings”of Confucianism and Buddhism

长期以来,"内圣外王"被视为儒家所具有的精神传统,实际上也是佛教所具有的内容。不过,对具体的内容、侧重、原因、标准、特征、关系等方面的问题,儒家与佛教有着各自不同的理论。对这些理论的梳理和辨析,将从个人修养的完成和社会价值的实现两个角度,更清晰地展现儒家与佛教的理论特色。

For a long time,＂Internal Saints and External Kings＂is regarded as the traditional spirit of Confucianism. Actually it is also the content of Buddhism. However,Confucianism and Buddhism have different theories about suchproblemsasthe specific content,emphasis,reason,standard,characteristic,and relationship. By the analysis of these theories,this paper showsthe theoretical characteristics of Confucianism and Buddhismmore clearly from the two angles of accomplishing personal cultivationand achieving social value.
