Ruan Ji's Transformation in Thoughts

阮籍虽然不像嵇康那样嫉恶如仇,轻肆直言,但也不是黑白不分只会委曲求全苟活于世的文人。阮籍的人生观、价值观和哲学观随着时代和环境的变化而变化。阮籍的思想早期以儒为主,中期调和儒道,晚期由儒入道。其主要思想集中反映在早期的《乐论》《通易论》、中期的《通老论》、晚期的《大人先生传》等著作中。

Ruan Ji was not like Ji Kang,who abhorred evils as deadly foes and was inclined to speak forthrightly. However,Ruan Ji was not one who drifted along and didn＇t care about what was right or wrong. Ruan Ji＇s outlooks on life,values and philosophy were changing along with times and circumstances. He was at first a Confucian,later pursued both Confucianism and Taoism and finally converted to Chuang school. His thoughts were reflected in Yue Theory,Tong Yi Theory in his early times,his mid-time work Tong Lao Theory and Biography of a Mister Somebody.
