Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of method of pushing and pressing with drug stick along the meridian on lumbar disc hemiation remission stage pain, and probe into its possible mechanism. Methods: Sixty patients who were during lumbar disc hemiation remission stage and treated in our hospital' s orthopaedics department between May 2013 and May 2015 were chosen as the research subjects, and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 30 cases in each group. The ones in the observation group were treated with method of pushing and pressing with drug stick along the meridian, while the ones in the control group were treated with Western medicine. Results: After the treatment, the two groups' JOA scores were better than those before the treatment, and the differences were statistically significant( P〈0. 05). The observation group' s JOA score was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant( P〈0. 05). The effective rate of the control group was 60. 0 %,while that of the observation group was 93. 3%; And the observation group was better than the control group( P〈0. 05). Conclusion: Method of pushing and pressing with drug stick along the meridian has a remarkable clinical curative effect on lumbar disc hemiation. The possible mechanism is to loosen muscle adhesion, reduce aseptic inflammatory reaction and improve muscle fatigue.
