Thomas Bernhard is one of the most controversial writers in the post-war German literature. He occupies an indisputable position in the contemporary German literary world. His first novel ＂Frozen＂ won him the German Bremen Literature Prize and the world＇s attention. This article focuses on the analysis of the critical art of chilliness, the extremes of language and characters in the works, and the abundance of grotesque metaphors.
