Neoplasms oligometastasis and progress in its therapeutic strategies

20世纪90年代中期,寡转移的概念首次被提出,它是恶性肿瘤转移过程中存在的一种中间状态,是肿瘤生物侵袭性较温和的时期,介于局限性原发灶与广泛性转移之间的过渡阶段,其转移灶的数目有限并且具有转移器官的特异性。寡转移的治疗方法包括放射治疗、手术、射频消融等局部治疗;同时也可考虑是否需要联合全身治疗。正确认识肿瘤寡转移及其治疗将改变传统治疗恶性肿瘤的思维观念,也可为部分晚期肿瘤患者带来治愈的可能。

In the middle of the 1990s,the concept of ＂oligometastasis＂ was proposed for the first time,which is one of intermediate states in the process of neoplasms metastasis. The oligometastatic state is a relative period with mild biological invasiona, between local primary tumor and widespread metastasis,with limited metastatic foci and organ-specific features. The therapeutic strategies of oligometastatic disease is local therapy, such as radiotherapy, surgery, radiofrequency ablation, etc. And simultaneously, systemic ther- apy could be taken into consideration. Correct understanding of oligometastasis and its therapeutic strategies may change the tradi- tional concept of treatment of malignant neoplasms, also bring possibility of curable results for some advanced neoplasms patients.
