American sinologist Howard Goldbatt is known as a creative translator whose translations put more emphasis on the cultural and literary features of works rather than the lexical and syntactic elements of texts.This article undertakes to explore Howard Goldblatt＇s creative translation style by analyzing his translation of cultural image ＂Pan Jianlian＂from Liu Zhenyun＇s novel I Did Not Kill My Husband,and appreciates Howard Goldblatt＇s successful combination of the originality of Chinese literary works and the resonance of world literary works,thus paving the way for the emergence of Chinese literary works on the world stage.
