摘要
经济学中的效用理论可以度量消费者在消费商品时所感受到的满足程度。教育产业化使民办高校通用英语具有商品的属性,然而其效用较低。与中学一样的教材设计和授课模式、老生常谈的教材选题都使通用英语带给学生的边际效用趋于负值;忽略消费者偏好的英语课时安排也降低通用英语的总效用。因此,要提高效用,应该从教材环节设计多样性及选题的趋于专业性方面来设计通用英语教材,并开展立足于本校的消费者偏好研究以合理分配课时。
The utility theory in economics is to measure the degree of satisfaction of consumers. With the commercialization of higher education, the General English Course has the property of commodity, whose utility seems obviously low. The similar textbook design and the repeated topics the textbook contains all tend to push the degree of utility of General English Course to be negative.The allocation of teaching hours while ignoring the consumer preferences also greatly reduced the effectiveness of the course. Therefore, the textbooks with different designs and major-friendly contents should come into being in order to enhance the effectiveness.And a college-oriented research needs to be done to properly allocate the teaching hour.
