Problems and countermeasures for oral public health service in China

为推动我国口腔公共卫生工作的发展,对全国14个区县的调研和访谈,分析我国口腔公共卫生服务现状,并指出口腔公共卫生服务体系与机制尚不健全、工作开展不深入不广泛是目前存在的两大问题。经过4个方面的原因分析,提出深入开展口腔健康教育与健康促进活动、建立口腔公共卫生服务体系与机制、制定口腔公共卫生发展规划与工作规范、将口腔公共卫生服务纳入基本公共卫生服务、多种方式提高基层口腔公共卫生服务能力等五项建议。

The study aims to explore the way to promote the development of oral public health in China. We conducted field surveys and interviews with professional personnel in 14 counties of 13 provinces to examine current situation of oral public health service in China. The study results revealed that imperfect service system and mechanism, incomplete and limited coverage of oral health education and promotion are two major problems for oral public health. Based on ana- lyses on underlying reasons, we put forward five suggestions for oral public health service in China：establishing perfect system and mechanism for oral public health service, making development plans and work guidelines, integrating oral public health service into primary public health service, and improving basic service capability through various approaches.
