Predicament and Prospect of “the Root Literature”in the New Century

"底层文学"是中国新世纪文学中新出现的,也是最引人关注的文学现象,它代表着文艺发展的新方向。新世纪"底层文学"作品繁多,其中优秀作家层出不穷,例如陈应松、胡学文、罗伟章、贾平凹、迟子建、乔叶等。但是,透过理性的眼光也应该看到,由于多元化的价值取向、影响广泛的市场经济、浮躁和猎奇的审美心理及快餐式的文学消费模式等因素的影响,"底层文学"在发展中也存在着过度消费苦难、理性思辨不足和文学意蕴缺失等问题。

'The root literature'is the latest and the most concerned literary phenomena in the field of Chinese literature in new century. It represents a new direction of the development of the literature and art. There are a large number of 'The root literature'works in the new century. Among those the outstanding writers emerge in an endless stream,such as Chen Yingsong,Hu Xuewen,Luo Weizhang,Jia Pingwa,Chi Zijian,Qiao Ye and so on. However,through a rational perspective we should see that because of the diversified value orientation,the impact of a wide range of market economy,impulsive and adventurous aesthetic psychology and the fastfood-style literary consumption patterns and other factors,there are lots of problems in the development of'The root literature',such as the excessive consumption of suffering,the lack of rational speculation and the lack of literature and so on. These will affect the long-term healthy development of 'the root literature'.
