1942年,自春至秋,河南旱魃肆虐,千里赤地,几乎无县不灾。当时,旱灾的严重引起了媒体的重视。南阳《前锋报》自始至终关注这次灾荒,前后发表了近百篇关于灾荒和救灾的社评,不仅呼吁当局和社会各界关注河南灾荒,而且针对性地提出了救灾的切实可行的办法,从理论和实践上指导救灾。李蕤和《前锋报》社评在河南灾荒史上留下了浓墨重彩的一笔。

In 1942,great draught has been covering the whole area of Henan province from spring to autumn. At that time,the seriousness of the draught caught attention from the media. Nanyang's Qianfeng Newspaper was paying close attention to the draught all the time. It published nearly one hundred editorials about the drought and relieving it,appealed to the authorities and the whole society to focus on the drought in Henan province,and gave help to relief work theoretically and practically. Li Rui and the editorials of Qianfeng Newspaper left a great mark in the history of Henan disasters.
