The Application of Case-based Teaching in English Undergraduate Thesis Writing Course

案例教学法是培养学生理论联系实际、解决问题能力的一种实用的教学方法。通过分析案例教学法在英语本科毕业论文写作课程中的组织和实施过程的同时,探讨了在专业英语学术写作教学中运用案例教学法时要注意的关键问题。利用论文摘要写作为例,讨论在实际教学中,如何运用案例教学法来辅助教学。实践表明,在毕业论文写作课程中恰当利用案例教学法,能有效地帮助学生提高撰写学术论文的能力。

Case-based teaching is an important teaching method which aims at cultivting students＇ abilities of combining theories with practice and problem-solving. This paper analyzes the organization and implementation process of case-based teaching in English graduation thesis writing, and probes into the key problems that should be paid attention to when applying this method. Taking the abstract writing as an example, this paper discusses how to use case teaching method to assist practical teaching. Practice shows that the effective implementation of case-based teaching in graduation thesis can effectively help students improve their ability on academic writing.
