A study of the migration and adaptation of some Hunan people in Laos

湖南人先后经历了从湖南到云南再到老挝的迁徙历程,对其迁徙过程以及文化适应情况的调查研究表明,国家力量和市场经济发挥了重要作用。湖南人在融入老挝社会过程中表现出明显的工具性和功利性,具有较明显的区隔。

This paper studies the migration process and cultural adaptation of some Hunan people in Laos. They first emigrated from Hunan to Yunnan and then to Laos, while the state power and market economy played an important role. The cultural adaptation of these Hunan people in their acculturation is obviously instrumental and utilitarian, and there is a fairly obvious separation between them and the Lao society.
