The purple earthenware works of Ma Chenglin have typical symbolic characteristics. It’s different from the ordinary literati painting. He is good at learning from bronze work, ancient pottery and the patterns and shapes in the calligraphy and painting copybook. He often refines some "weird" wares and really enjoy that. At the first glance, his works are somehow eccentric. However, when savor each line, symbol and color inside carefully, you can feel the profound Chinese culture easily. It seems that his works are of space confusion, what brings the thickness of art work with special rules and measures at the same time.
