Review ofapplication of Tangcao tablet-a traditional Chinese medicine for adjuvant treatment of AIDS patients

目的通过对唐草片10年来的质量研究,药理、药效等基础研究,中西药合用的临床研究综合整理和分析,明确唐草片的作用特点和临床使用方法。从质量控制、基础、临床等多方面进行研究,在国内23个省55个市县进行临床应用,出口非洲、东南亚等8个国家。唐草片质量稳定,既可单独使用,也可与高效抗反转录病毒治疗(HAART)药物合用;可改善症状,促进免疫重建;减轻HAART不良反应,并提高其疗效。

Tangcao tablet is the first and only Chinese medicine that has been approved by CFDA for adjuvant treatment of AIDS patients. It has been in clinical use for more than 10 years in 55 cities and counties of 23 provinces in China, and even exported to eight countries of Africa, and Southeast Asia. It can be used alone or in combination with anti-retroviral therapy （ART） for AIDS patients. It can improve symptoms and promote immune reconstruc- tion, reduce ART adverse reaction and improve its curative effect. A number of studies has been carried out to clari- fy its function and clinical application. This paper reviewed the literature related to the clinical and pharmacological studies, and combined medication with ART of Tangcao tablet.
