Perspectives on the undergraduate honours degree in Tsinghua University

清华大学本科荣誉学位的主要目的是促使学生个性化发展,其形式是设置同名的专门项目,对象是面向部分精英群体。就价值和意义而言,清华大学本科荣誉学位制度可以更好地满足学生的个性化需求,推动学生学习观念转变,同时亦可以助推我国学位制度变革。从长远和全局来看,我国大学本科荣誉学位的进一步发展需要完成以下转变:从培养项目到培养结果;从特定群体到面向全体;从个别大学到全国高校。

The main purpose of the honours degree of Tsinghua University is to promote students＇ per sonalized development. Its form is to set up a special program with the same name and its object is a part of the elite. In terms of value and significance, the honorary degree system of Tsinghua Universi- ty can better meet the students＇ interest in personalization, promote students to change their learning beliefs, and advance the reform of the degree system in China. In the long run, the further develop ment of the honours degree in China needs to complete the following changes, which range from the training program to the results of training, from specific groups to the whole as well as from individual universities to colleges and universities across the country.
