摘要
《大学英语教学指南》非常重视培养学生的跨文化交际意识和能力,提升其综合文化素养,也明确提出要构建囊括通用英语、专门用途英语和跨文化交际三大类课程的大学英语课程体系。在这样的背景下,引入英美文学类课程是非常必要的。作为英美文学类课程的一个重要分支,英美短篇小说阅读课程在中山大学南方学院开设的可行性很高,因为其学生情况、教学内容、教学模式、教师团队和政策支持等条件已相对成熟。
According to Guidelines on College English Teaching which attaches great importance to the development of students awareness and ability of cross - cultural communication and the promotion of their overall cultural quality, it is necessary to introduce courses in English literature to Nanfang College of Sun Yat - sen University. As an important branch of courses in English literature, course in English short stories is quite feasible taking into consideration of the students, teaching contents, teaching model, faculty and policy support in the college.
