The spirit of the Chinese tea ceremony is harmony, respect, purity and beauty; the Sado of the Japanese is harmony, respect, purity and tranquility; while the spirit of South Korean tea ceremony is harmony, respect, joy and reality. The three countries all regard"harmony"as the first thought. Through the collation, analysis and comparison of the historical documents, this paper sums up their common place of "harmony": all of them reflect the self-cultivation of Confucianism and Zen. In addition,"harmony"in the Chinese tea ceremony emphasizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature. "Harmony"in the Japanese tea ceremony inclines to the harmony between heart and heart, while that in South Korean tea ceremony focuses on the interpersonal harmony.
