On Development Orientation of Ou Sculpture and Its Modern Transformation——Based on Artistic Features and Status Quo of Ou Sculpture

瓯塑是浙江温州独有的地方工艺美术,经过上千年的传承和技术革新,瓯塑在工艺和材料方面已经具备了自身的艺术特点。但是,瓯塑作品的现状显示了它正偏离工艺美术的范畴,逐渐变成一种与绘画语言相似的图像媒介,制约了它的发展。本文基于对瓯塑的艺术特点、现状的整理和分析,试图探索瓯塑的现代转型和未来的发展方向。

Ou Sculpture or Ousu in Chinese （sculpture in Wenzhou） is a unique local industrial art in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. After handcraft inheritance and technological innovation for thousands of years, it has possessed its own artistic characteristics in aspects of process and material. However, the current situation of Ousu works indicates that Ousu has been gradually deviating from the category of industrial art and becoming an image medium similar to the drawing language, which in turn has restricted its development. The paper probes into the modern transformation and the future development direction based on the classification and analysis of its artistic characteristics and status quo.
