Documentary is a significant media product that records the history of a country and reflects the social reality.Particularly,in the new environment of international communication in the era of globalization and post-truth,it is worth noting that the creation of new investigation documentary is strongly concerned.The new investigation documentary not only is a record of typical social events and their processes,but also shows the deep concern about current social problems and social progress.Besides,there are creative practices and innovative performance style presented in the new investigation documentary.This article will focus on Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11,two new investigation documentaries of the United States,and analyze their performance style,including storytelling narration,entertaining material selection,personalized expression.On the basis of analyzing this form of American documentary,this article intends to give enlightenment to international communication of China's documentaries.
