The Paradox of Soft Power and its Chinese Surpass

从一个舶来品、学术概念到政治术语,从文化软实力到中国模式软实力,软实力概念在中国已落地生根,深入影响中国人的思维方式和话语体系。然而,不计其基督教背景和美国特色,泛泛而谈软实力,将越来越陷入软实力陷阱。其实,软实力理论具有两大误区:一是自认为正确,故通过各种手段让对方接受、学习;二是潜意识里认为自己无所不能,并想方设法让人家确信这一点。这两点都具有浓重的宗教情结,因为只有上帝才会永远正确且无所不能。正本清源,中国软实力概念和理论必须超越特色—普世的悖论,不忘本来——中国传统文化的软实力之实,吸收外来——西方软实力之名,开创未来——包容性软实力体系。

From an exotic academic concept to a political term,from cultural soft power to Chinese soft power,the concept of soft power has put down its roots in China,influencing the thinking mode and discourse system of Chinese people. However, regardless of its Christian background and U. S. characteristics, talking generally about soft power will lead to cognitive trap. In fact, the theory of soft power has two kinds of misunderstanding. First,it is conceited and always tries to persuade others to accept its opinion through all kinds of means. Second,it regards itself omnipotent subconsciously and tries to make others believe this by all means. These two points both have strong religious complex, since only the God is correct forever and omnipotent. Therefore, Chinese concept and theory of soft power should surpass the paradox of universalcharacteristic,bearing Chinese traditional culture in mind, absorbing foreign benefits, and constructing inclusive soft power system for the future.
