Quite different from Maynard Keynes and William Baumol,who took cultural economics as a hobby, Ruth Towse is a“ pure” cultural economist, since ā96？s she devoted herself to the study of cultural economics, and made remarkable achievements on the subject such as copyright economics and cultural economics, which made her known as living fossil and comprehensive synthesis of cultural economics. Generally speaking, the academic contribution of Professor Ruth mainly includes following respects： She has made admirable achievements in cultural economics by meticulous research of basic issues, systematic summary of history and constantly broadening the teiritory and subject of cultural economics ; she reconstructed cultural economics on the basis of copyright economics, which used to be a loophole of cultural economics research. At the same time, she is the founder and important participant of some important international association, such as the International Association of Cultural Economics and International Copyright Economy Research Association, through these associations she delivers her whole-hearted service to academic community and society, which gain her international respect and reputation.
