A Review of Leisure Ethics Orientation of Scholars in the Southern Song Dynasty

南宋文士注重对于休闲伦理的导向。他们重视休闲中的道德法度,反对物欲横流,主张节制爱物;他们重视休闲中的应有礼仪,反对放纵无礼,主张慎独恭敬;他们看重休闲中的消极自由,反对动态冒险,主张静态活动。以今日之价值视角来看,总体上有积极而可供借鉴的一面,亦有消极落后的成分,需要辩证对待。

Men of letters in the Southern Song dynasty paid special attention to the orientation of leisure ethics.They emphasized the morality of leisure,stressed self-restraint and employed things to their full utility in opposition to extravagant materialism.They upheld proper etiquette,disdained audacity,and never lost sincere piety either in solitude or in society.They preferred passive activities and the passive freedom of leisure over risk-taking adventures.Seen from today's standards,their values have to be discriminated before they could be made useful for our modern life.
