自明代中叶资产阶级思想解放冲动萌生之后,中国古典小说历史叙事出现新的发展趋势。既往小说同历史关系的法定认可,濒于翻案重审的现实险境,小说挣脱历史之缰的意志已势不可挡;而"小说界革命"则真正促成了小说文体之于历史文本的独立。

A new development emerged in historical narrative of classical Chinese novels around mid-Ming dynasty soon after the nascent impulse of bourgeois ideological liberation.Previous legitimacy of the bound between novel and history was to be put on trial again,and novel itself was powerfully ready to get free from the reigns of history.Then came the ' Revolution of Novel' that sealed the final separation of historical and narrative texts.
