Supplemental Comments on the Influence in Yunnan of National Southwestern Associated University

抗日战争时期,云南接纳了当时中国的教育文化精英机构——西南联合大学。联大在滇8年,不仅仅延续着原先的教学、科研及民主活动,同时也促进了当时云南教育科技的发展,对云南地方军阀龙云的政治态度及昆明社会文化的发展也带来一定影响。

In the anti-Japanese war period,Yunnan harbored the then elite of the Chinese educational institutions,the National Southwestern Associated University,which stayed running in Yunnan for eight years.During these yeses,NSAU managed not only to continue its teaching,scientific research,and democratic activities,but also promoted educational,scientific,and technological development of the province.Furthermore,it also exerted some sways on the political attitude of Long Yun,the local warlord of Yunnan.NSAU was also an influence in the development of social and cultural life of Kunming city.
