"坡芽歌书"由81幅图案组成,每幅图案代表一首音形义固定的情歌,共81首,726行。歌书内容以爱情为主题,以一对青年男女的一见钟情为线索,通过两人对唱的形式,真实地反映了壮族的婚恋过程和价值取向,表达了壮族儿女勇敢地追求自由爱情和幸福生活的决心。歌书内容亦涵盖了壮族人民的生产、生活、宗教、审美情感等诸多层面。"坡芽歌书"源于生活而又超越生活本身,它看着是图画,写着是文字,念着是语言,唱着是情歌,有着多重研究价值和广阔的发展空间。

Poya Folk Songs Signsis composed of 81 pictographic signs,each representing a song with fixed melody and lyrics,and there are altogether 723 lines of verse.The verses（songs）are a dialogue between a young man and a young woman who fall in love at the first sight.These verses picture to us not only the love story of a Zhuang couple,their pursuit of happiness and free love,but also suggest what is valuable in love for the Zhuang people.The songs cover Zhuang people’s production,daily life,religion,their aesthetics and emotions.Poya Folk Songs Signs is a picture,a record of language,and notes of songs in one piece.
