作为一部以复仇为情节主线的小说,《荒野猎人》蕴含众多伦理道德元素。文章认为,主要人物的伦理选择都是斯芬克斯因子间争斗的结果,同时也是德性个体差异的体现,而不同的家庭道德启蒙和社会伦理教化是导致这种差异的深层次原因。文章借主人公的遭遇提出对落难之人救或不救的道德问题,指出实现从道德规范的他律到自律,是建设道德社会的必经之路,也是我们每个人需承担的道德责任。

The Revenant, as a novel with the plotline of revenge, contains varieties of ethical elements. The paper holds that the protagonist makes ethical selections, driven by the conflict between the two sides of Sphinx Factor. Divergent moralities, derived from different family moral enlightenment and social ethical cultivation, lead to different ethical choices, even in the same ethical predicament. The paper points out that moral norms from social heteronomy to individual autonomy is dispensable for building a moral society and is also the moral duty everyone should take.
