The mother tongue education in the college can help cultivate college students' understanding and expression abilities toward their national language and their aesthetic taste,with the important functions of inheriting national culture and building national character.The sense of belonging and selfconfidence toward their own national culture can be built in order to carry forward the national spirit and raise the soft power of the national culture.This paper explains the connotation and function of college mother tongue education,straightens out the current research situation of college mother tongue education,and reflects on relevant issues.
