The long history and the splendid culture helped create Pucheng paper - cutting, a renowned folk art. Collective wis-dom from generation to generation has produced many popular paper - cutting works. In general, Pucheng paper - cutting is char-acterized by its rich forms, nice decoration, and simple shapes. Its theme comes from the real life and the traditional folk cul-ture ,expressing people’s hopes,pursuits and longings. This paper discusses the history, the usage and the artistic features of Pu-cheng paper - cutting, with an aim to arouse peopled attention to this traditional folk art in northern Fujian.
