张恨水与他同时代的许多作家相比,多数作家作品逐渐被后来的读者所遗忘,而他的作品在新世纪反而被拍成多部电视连续剧在央视热播,纸质作品也一版再版。同时,在文学史著中,在大学讲堂里,他的作品也经常被分析和研究。张恨水之所以在新世纪仍然受到读者喜爱,根源主要在于其进步的文学观,这主要表现在:作家要为普通民众而创作、反思是推动创作发展的动力、艺术必须通过创新才能反映时代发展。

Compared with many writers of his generation whose works have gradually been forgotten by later readers, Zhang Henshui1 s works have been made into television series in the new century and have been broadcasted by CCTV. They are also republished many times and often studied in literary circles and universities. The reason why Zhang Henshui is still loved by readers in the new century is mainly due to his progressive literature and art view. Writers are required to create works for the general public. Reflection is the driv-ing force for creative development. Art must reflect the development of the times through innovation.
