A Chinese American Scholar,Chen Rongjie's Chuanshan Studies

陈荣捷对船山的形上哲学、人生哲学的一些重要方面均进行了探讨,并刻画出船山激进与保守并存的二重思想性格,揭示了船山思想对清代与近现代哲学的影响。陈荣捷在马克思主义和现代新儒家的框架外,对船山学进行了较为客观的审视与准确的定位,从而为船山哲学的国际传播与经典化进程做出了积极贡献。

Chen Rongjie has studied some important aspects of the metaphysical philosophy and philosophy of life of Chuans han, portrayed Chuanshan＇s dual ideological characters of both radical and conservative and revealed the influence of Chuanshan thought to the Qing Dynasty and modern philosophy. Beyond the framework of Marx doctrine and modern Neo Confucianism, Chen Rongjie had more objective survey and accurate positioning about Chuanshan studies, so as made a positive contribution to the international spread and the classical process of Chuanshan philosophy.
