钱穆与民国学风——以私立五华文理学院为中心

Ch'ien Mu and Academic Tendency in the Republic of China——Focusing on Wuhua Private College of Arts and Sciences

抗战胜利以后,因与"科学考订派"和"革新派"在学术取向、人事方面均不相协,钱穆并未北上、东进,而是暂时栖身昆明私立五华文理学院。其时,钱穆讲学多以中国思想史为主题,著述则以提振民族精神为宗旨。其教人则力反民国以来学者不读书,竞以新材料相尚的流弊;强调治学要读基本书,要在掌握前人研究之大体的情况下继续深入,以期转变学风。

After the victory of Anti - Japanese War, due to the contradiction in academic tendency and personnel matters between the School of Science Research and the Revolutionists, Ch＇ ien Mu lived temporarily in Wuhua Private College of Arts and Sciences in Kunming instead of going back to Peking University and going to the universities in Shanghai. At that time, the themes of Ch＇ ien Mu＇ s lectures were mainly concerned with traditional Chinese philosophy, and the purpose of his writ- ings was to carry forward national spirit. He taught people to go against the malpractice that scholars didn＇ t read classics but to advocate new archaeological materials. To change this academic atmosphere, he emphasized that to pursue studies one need to read classic books and continue with it after knowing the general information about the research from previous scholars.
