A Constrastive Study of the Confucius and Socrates' Morality

孔子和苏格拉底是东西方文化的奠基者,他们在相似的社会环境中各自提出了对人生和社会的道德思考,创立了东西方的道德观。无论从道德的起源、道德与知识的关系还是道德主体性和道德理想等方面都具有高度的一致性。在分析两者相同观点的同时,洞悉其差异性,有利于进一步揭示这种比较研究对于当代中国道德建设的价值。

Confucius is the founder of eastern culture, and Socrates is the founder of western culture. Both of them presented moral reflection on life and society, and set up morality in the eastern and western socie- ty. The origin of moral, the relationship between morality and knowledge , moral subjectivity and moral i- deal are highly consistent in their theories. But knowing the differences between these two theories is very important for the contrastive study of the value of contemporary Chinese moral construction.
