Ecological Marxism regards the relationship between man and nature as the basic problem of its concern and the logical starting point of academic inquiry. Centering on the status of man and nature in the universe and who is the subject of morality, there arises an academic debate on eco-centrism and anthropocentrism in ecological Marxism school. On the basis of the analysis of the manifestation and harm of the relationship between man and nature in the industrial society, ecological Marxism reveals that the capitalist system is the root cause behind, and points out that the path to resolving the tense relationship between man and nature must overstep capitalism and search in socialism and communism.
