在同性婚姻的争论中,以平权和婚姻自由的共同价值为由支持同性婚姻的观点占领了主流媒体意见,左右了西方政治以及学术界的讨论。而至今为止的科学研究不能确证同性恋倾向具有天生、不可逆/不可更改性,同性婚姻对社会产生复杂的影响,并挑战人类的信念:人性的后天可塑性和共同人类目标——传承繁衍。同性婚姻属于道德哲学的议题,受中国传统道德文化的影响,对无后不孝的顾虑,使得建立在现代平等权利和自由选择原则之上的同性婚姻的伦理基础构建得不到支持,因此,在华人地区全面推动同性婚姻合法化还言之过早。

In the debate of homosexual marriages, the argument of equal rights and freedom of marriage in support of homosexual marriages has been dominating the mainstream media, influencing the political and in- tellectual discourses. Scientific researches have so far failed to provide conclusive evidence for the inheritance, irreversibility and unchangeability of homosexual orientation, their complex social impact and challenge for hu- man beliefs： human nature can be molded after birth and the ultimate goal for human beings is to reproduce and multiply. Homosexual marriage belongs to an issue of ethical philosophy and the traditional Chinese cul- ture often plays an influential role in the debate ： the concern for no offspring nor filiality. As a result, the eth- ical construction for homosexual marriages, based on equal rights and free choices, cannot get adequate sup- port, therefore, it is too premature to push for the legalization of homosexual marriage among overseas Chi- nese.
