Development and change in chlor -alkali industry in China after the outbreak of the financial crisis at 2008 were introduced. The impact of the financial crisis on chlor -alkali industry was analyzed, including the positive role on technology progress, on reasonable adjustment of capacity allocation, and on enhancing the innovation ability of chloralkali industry. An oudook on the development trend of chlor -alkali industry in China was given.
