The paper mainly introduces the common damage and the reasons of stone arch bridges,including the main arch ring cracks,the abdominal arch ring cracks,the abutment deformation,and the arch fracture. What's more,the author proposed the related strengthening measures according to the above situations-the measures of reinforcing old bridge,the technology of anchoring and shotcreting,changing the load line and reinforcing the foundation.
