"Zongbaonao" dance, originating from the folk ritual activities performed by witchcraft in "Meishan Culture", belongs to Yao’s sacrificial dance. Through specific dance form, it conveys the fruitful connotation by describing the ancestral migration, labor, sacrifice, hunting, fighting and filial piety. Based on the research of dance ecology, this thesis illustrates the "Zongbaonao" dance of the Yao from historical origin, morphological feature extraction and aesthetic expressive function of dance language, finding that the inheritance of this "one thousand years’ dance" does not depend on its formal beauty, but the significance, the value, the function and the emotional support of the particular dance language symbol system.
