As nonrenewable resources continue to shrink,the smart grid has become one of the most promising and attractive energy systems in the future. It integrated cutting-edge technology to achieve efficient energy consumption and provided a variety of useful tools,such as power monitoring and data analysis. With the traditional end users of the smart grid becoming consumers,they can also become the most important value creators in the smart grid. New research showed that new business opportunities were waiting to be developed. This paper discussed the business model and its characteristics of the smart grid integration of production and consumption,and recommended a new business model and corresponding value proposition.
