The molecular sieve electric heater of Ma Steel's 20000 m^3/h air separation unit successively had nine breakdowns, including two unit tripping and repeatedly burnout of the heating pipe. The causes were analyzed in detail and a series of measures were taken,which has significantly reduced the frequency of the electric heater failures and solved the breakdown problem.
