《红楼梦》中的袭人,自始至终自觉追求从奴隶到奴才的生活道路,她在怡红院发展势力、建立壁垒、排除异己、献媚邀宠、巩固自己的地位,一直扮演着监视和破坏宝黛爱情的"调三窝四"的角色,起到贾府当权统治者所不能起的封建卫道士的作用,成为封建统治阶级扼杀宝黛爱情、毁灭美好人性的直接帮凶。

In The Story of the Stone, Xi-ren consciously and persistently pursues a life from a slave to aflunkey.She develops her power, sets up barriers, purges those who hold different views, makes up to her superi-ors to dig herself up in Yihong Court. She is a trouble maker who monitors and damages the love between Bao-yu and Dai-yu, and a feudalism protector whose role can't be played by the rulers in the Jia family. She be-comes the sheer accomplice of the feudal ruling class in straitjacketing the love between Bao-yu and Dai-yuand in wiping out the beauty of humanity.
