摘要
计算主义是认知科学和心灵哲学中的主流研究纲领,但在近年来面临着越来越严峻的挑战。李建会教授等人合著的《计算主义及其理论难题研究》一书,通过审理计算主义的历史,将计算主义的难问题归结为形式系统的意义获取。该书基于侯世达的同构与分层的理论,提出了一种对意义如何涌现于形式符号系统的新论证。这一思路非常新颖和另类,也可以启发我们进一步思考人工智能的设计思路。
Computationalism,the mainstream research program in cognitive science and philosophy of mind,is facing more and more challenges in recent years. Computationalism and its Theoretical Difficulties,a book written by Professor Li Jianhui and others,through rethinking the history of computationalism,draws a conclusion that the central problem of computationalism is the meaning acquisition of formal system. Based on Douglas Hofstadter's theory,this book presents a new argument on how meaning emerges from formal symbol system. This novel and alternative idea can inspire us to further examine the design idea of artificial intelligence.
