This paper introduced the historical background and the process of the industry standard revision for the fluorescent brightener OB - 1, and introduced the differences of the new standard HG/T 3703 - 2016 and the original standard HG/T 3703 - 2009 i. e. （ 1 ） the new industry standard increased the division of prod-uct quality grades of the product, divided it into classy article and grade A;（2）the new industry standard ad- justed some control projects, indicators and the corresponding measurement methods; （3）the new industry standard increased 4 - amino azobenzene limited and determination of OB - 1 product ; （4） the new industry standard improved and determined some evaluation and test methods.
