The selection and cultivation of international medical student cadres is an important part of college orientation education. A harmonious and stable class can be constructed through the promotion of international student cadres＇ personal growth and all-round development, which is going to play a positive role in contributing to international students＇ development and progress, building cam- pus stability, and maintaining social stability. Discussion from the perspective of self-determination theory on the selection and cultivation of international student cadres sheds light on how to satisfy the needs of international student cadre competence, autonomy and relatedness in order to stimulate their intrinsic motivation, leading to good work performance and leader role modeling.
