摘要
微生物天然产物又被称作次级代谢产物,是抗生素和药物先导化合物的重要来源。现有的医用抗生素几乎有一半是来源于天然产物。然而,在上世纪的"黄金时代"之后,再没有新的天然产物抗生素被引入临床。本文将简介抗生素的发现史和耐药性,多学科发展对深入研究天然产物的重要作用,以及对未来抗生素开发的一些个人观点。
Microbial natural products which are also known as secondary metabolites have been using as antibiotics or lead compounds for drug design. Today over half of the clinical antibiotics are from natural products. However, no new antibiotics have been introduced into clinics since the "Golden Age". In this review, we will briefly introduce the history of antibiotic discovery and resistance, the development of natural products based on multidisciplinary studies, as well as our personal views of the design of all new antibiotics.
