The Color Purple, a novel about black female＇s resistance, lays out a double survival predicament, post-colonial oppression and patriarchal oppression, confronted by black female under the context of the penis centered patriarchal society and the post colonial society. In the prohibition and shackles against female, black women would reflect and balance, eventually stepped into an independent and free new world through the refutation and resistance. Alice Walker made detailed analysis of the inner and outer world of black women through her depiction and interpretation with the purpose to pay a close attention and to change the marginal status of women, re-positioning the beauty of women and the survival value.
