江苏仪征市烟袋山西汉车马陪葬坑发掘简报

The Excavation of the Chariot-and-horse Pits of the Western Han Dynasty at Yandai Shan in Yizheng City,Jiangsu

烟袋山西汉车马陪葬坑位于江苏省仪征市新城镇丁冲村南，北距宁启铁路400米，南距328国道4．4公里，西南距仪征城区约8公里，地处蜀岗丘陵地区（图一）。1985年10～12月，南京博物院曾在此发掘了一座西汉中期竖穴土坑木椁墓，编号为85YYMl（烟袋山一号墓）。

In October 2007, Yangzhou Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and Yizheng Museum jointly excavated four chariot-and-horse pits on Yandai Shan （Tobacco Pipe Hill） in Yizheng, Jiangsu. The excavation unearthed over 500 pieces of elaborately made grave goods, including chariot and horse fittings, models of horse chariots, ox carts, boats, figurines, etc. Seen from the high-ranking artifacts unearthed from these pits and the locations of these pits, they probably belonged to the Yandai Shah Han Tomb No. 1. This discovery provided important physical materials for the studies on the burial system of the Han Dynasty in Yangzhou area.
